The vision and mission of Aarhus University’s C3NET – the Climate|Culture|Catastrophe Network – is to bring together an interdisciplinary team of researchers concerned with the human impacts of climate change and extreme environmental events in the past – as well as in the present and future. Its aim is to create and catalyse a research, education and outreach cluster that spans AU’s main academic areas and that challenges the traditional boundaries of academic projects and practice. C3NET works towards an integration of the Environmental Sciences with the Environmental Humanities through a temporally-deep perspective and under the particular heading of Palaeoenvironmental Humanities.

C3NET is a recognized member of the International Consortium of Environmental History Organisations (ICEHO).
